Norsepower, a pioneer in sustainable shipping solutions, is bringing sails back to shipping – and saving the planet at the same time. In the summer, we found a great addition to our team, and now we are looking to hire one more Service/Commissioning Engineer.
Norsepower Rotor Sail™ harnesses the wind to maximize fuel efficiency and reduce emissions of ships. It is the first commercially available mechanical sail for large vessels. It has a proven track record of successful operation since 2014. Norsepower’s project services cover all phases from sales to project delivery and operational support. Each project is planned according to the client’s needs and preferences.
In this role, you will be part of a motivated Service/Commissioning team consisting of 10 professionals who manage the Norsepower Rotor Sails™ throughout the entire lifecycle. As a Service/Commissioning Engineer, you will supervise rotor sail installations at shipyards and handle commissioning onboard. Together with Fleet Supervisors, you oversee customer service. Another essential aspect of your job is on-site work, maintaining and updating software. Onboard, you ensure that the rotors utilize the latest technology through modernization and customized components. The role can be enhanced and modified based on your experience and interests.
To succeed in this position, we expect you to have a hands-on attitude and a proven track record of service/commissioning work. You will work in close collaboration with different stakeholders, so we assume you have good communication skills. We hope that you have a proactive approach and a can-do attitude. We are looking for a generalist who has a comprehensive understanding of the bigger picture. Being consistently eager to learn, developing oneself, and thriving in a fast-growing company are key attributes. Our office is located in Ruoholahti, and we work in a flexible hybrid model. Requirements
- Relevant educational background (MSc, BSc) in Automation engineering or similar
- Preferably at least couple of years of relevant work experience in service or/and commissioning work
- Willingness to travel (app. 100-150 days per year)
- Basic electrical knowledge and basic understanding of software
- Full working proficiency in English
